Success in real estate comes down to one simple thing – walking the talk, says Shaun Cosgrove, recognised as the number one sales consultation at the Central Region 2015/2016 End of Year Awards for New Zealand’s largest real estate group, Harcourts.

Shaun has worked in the Hamilton area for more than 20 years and in that time has carved out a reputation for himself as an outstanding sales consultant, consistently ranking among Harcourts’ best internationally.

His career sales to date total more than $700 million.

“I think success in this business is really all about listening to people, and if you say you’re going to do something do it,” Shaun says. “There are a lot of voices out there - be the one people can rely on.”

Harcourts NZ CEO Chris Kennedy says Shaun epitomises what it means to be a successful Harcourts sales consultant. “He works incredibly hard and he knows his market, and his clients, better than anybody. He gets great results and that is why is has an ever-growing group of loyal clients who come back to him every time they are buying or selling.”

Other top ranking Harcourts sales consultants for the Central Region in 2015/2016 were Aaron Davey from Hamilton Glenview (2nd) and Theo Smith from Mt Maunganui. (3rd)

Aaron was also recognised as Harcourts’ top lifestyle and rural sales consultant for 2015/16 at the awards.

Aaron is another sales consultant who consistently ranks among Harcourts’ top sellers.

He believes the key to ongoing success in real estate is to get the basics right and keep doing them. “It comes down to things like managing your client database and providing clients with the absolute best level of service so you get that repeat business.”

A highlight of 2016 for Aaron was selling a Tamahere property for a record price.

Chris Kennedy says real estate is a highly competitive industry, and each of the award recipients have excelled by incredible hard work and commitment to an outstanding client experience.

“I have huge admiration for those we recognise at our End of Year awards. They all work incredibly hard and are a big part of the reason Harcourts is New Zealand’s largest and most trusted real estate brand.”
